what would cause the upper portion of some of my stem plants to get a S like shape to it?

I am just recently noticing this.

Can't really see it in your pic, but they bend towards the light. If your light is mounted on the rim, the tops of the plants that aren't directly under the light bend towards it.

The water flow contributes a lot when they get really tall, that's when trimming is needed and replant.

yeah I guess it could be water flow. does sorta make sense.
