dirt tank with nothing else mixed right? dirt tank with rooted plant will need some kind of root tabs for nutrients. stem plants don't care much about getting nutrients from roots, they prefer it from liquid based ferts, you can buy the dry ferts, you will need N-P-K and traces (csm+b)

hi i have a new dirt tank, how long till i start to fertilize also whats best nitrogen phosphate and potassium ?

wont the organic compost feed it for a while
The dirt part of the substrate may be adequate for many months, especially with low light, but if you also dose the water you will probably never deplete the nutrients in the dirt. And, almost all plants can use their leaves to pick up nutrients, just as almost all can use their roots to do so.
sorry csm plus b is this all i need, i thought nitrogen, phosphate and potassium is whats most important

say i buy all these fertilizers will it come wiv instructions on how to dose or do i have to check nitrogen levels etcpotassium etc
