I got some gorgeous water lettuce from Nyxkitten a while back. It's been growing at a steady but manageable rate until this last weekend when I went out of town for five days and the timer wasn't working properly. I came home to an 80 gallon completely FULL of these lovelies. they're not super thick leafed like they get outside. They're actually very pretty and do well on large tanks for cycling and just providing a place for fry to hang out. I am putting five in my new Fluval Spec V (surprise early Christmas gift from my husband!) and they provide a really nice Zen look to nanos. I think keeping the roots trimmed would probably keep them at a manageable size. I have probably about ten extras of these guys right now that would love a new home. I can send them Priority for $5.50. If you want fewer I can do that, too. Please post here if interested.
