I see I lot of people are using ss mesh in there tanks so I wanted to mention this. I restore vintage motorcycles and have started building choppers. and use ss fasteners all the time. something that I have been hearing is stainless WILL break down and rust over time. this is coming from guys that have been building choppers for 30+ years. I'm sure its fine for the short term but I would keep an eye on it.

Yeah-I'm a little bit more at ease using plastic mesh myself...

Motorcycles take a lot of abuse that isn't present in a fish tank though. Vibrations, dirt, grime, heating and cooling, salt, etc.
What is wrong with rust in the tank. Just means more iron.
It isn't as shiny as usual? Not sure what the problem would be either...
