I have 3 rows of jungle Val along the back of my 55 gallon and there's staghorn algae on almost every leaf which is making it very unattractive. How do I get rid of it? I've read that peroxide can kill it but wouldn't the vals melt?

Im using a shop light with one 2700k and 6500k fluorescent bulb that's on for 8hrs. My substrate is silica sand from HD with clay root tabs. I dose with PPS pro from GLA but they recently changed the recipe and I'm following the new recipe. Thanks for any help
