The scientific names are used world wide. I keep them in my tank and I find they are relatively easy and attractive sp. of Crypts. I keep Cherry Barbs that are native of Sri Lanka and I've also bred Ceylon Combtails in that tank. They were housed at the time with Zipper Loaches also from Sri Lanka.Given the numerous crypt species from Sri Lanka in the hobby, I was just wondering why I never saw, or even heard of, these plants while growing up in Sri Lanka. Does anyone know what they are called there? Any other Sri Lankan expatriates on this forum?
I think you might be able to say the most common ones are from Sri Lanka. That would be more due to how adaptable they are and less problem magic for nurseries to grow profitably. Not to digress, but does anyone else notice that just about all crypts (maybe 80%) seem to be from Sri Lanka?
