I have a 90 gal planted tank with 2.4 wpg and pressurized CO2. The CO2 comes on with the lights. I would like to split the photoperiod ONLY FOR CONVENIENCE (not to fight algae) as follows:

6AM - 10AM ON (4 hours)
10AM - 4PM OFF
5PM - 9PM ON (4 hours)

Would this hurt my flora/fauna?

i do 8am to 11 or 12... i forget, and then 6pm to 11pm. In the beginning i had explosive plant growth. I had a green water episode and stopped dosing ferts and cut way back on light and lost a lot of plants and am not playing catch up while updating my co2...

so no, splitting the photoperiod shouldnt be an issue. a lot of us do it... and i've been very successful with it in my early plant keeping
