Learn from my mistake!
So, yesterday I did a quick partial water change and changed out the Purigen in my Spec V's filter chamber.
Because I have shrimp, I tuck an extra bit of aquarium sponge between the foam black and the wall of the filter chamber, so the foam block is pressed tight against the intake grates.
Well, when I put it back together I didn't get the foam pushed down as far as it should be, and a corner was stuck up above the edge of the tank by the mount for the light:
This caused a small trickle of water to run down the side of the tank and onto the table then thefloor! Several hours later I noticed that the water line was about an inch down, and investigated. HUGE puddle of water on the floor! It had used one of the light cords as a pathway as well.
Luckily I saw it before it went all night and no water got to close to the power strip down there.
Would never have guessed that could happen.
