Southern Wax Myrtle wood safe for aquarium?

(Myrica Cerifera) A very common large shrub/small tree here in central FL. It can grow anywhere from dry Pine barrens to swampy boggy land.

I found a nice dead piece of it in the woods across the street. Very twisty and curvy. Would fit perfectly in my 55 gallon tank.

I'm just concerned if it contains any natural toxins that would be harmful to my fish. I already Googled to try and find an answer but no luck.

Has anyone used this wood or heard of anyone else using this wood in an aquarium?
