I like the looks, and think it'll be even nicer once those vals spread a bit.

One pair seems like plenty for a 55 gal imo, especially with all those tetras and cories...

Oh a pair of rams would be fun in there! Or apistos!
I'd probably have a pair of bristlenose or whiptail cats, but that depends on your taste...
