Complete newbie here. This my first post about my first planted tank.

I have a 750L/260g (+250L/66g sump) tank with just a few vallisneria and an anubias with no fish atm. The plants are mainly just there to combat excessive algae growth while i try to sort everything out.

My mate suggested that I should set up a CO2 system since i had a pretty high budget. I also found that the pH of the water was pretty high (7.6 and sometimes fluctuates higher), probably due to the crushed coral i use in my sump so i was hoping some CO2 could help counter that.

I've done some basic research into CO2 systems and found that most people suggest building their own system from various parts rather than just buying a kit because it is simply not worth it (although i have a budget, i still want to be frugal!). People suggested home brewing shops/hardware stores/welding shops etc.

I was just wondering if anybody could point me towards more specific places to source these parts (i have absolutely no CO2 gear rn). I live in the campbelltown area of sydney.

Thanks guys!

to be honest, since this site is fairly US -centric that is not an easy bill to fill..
Best advice I could give is see CO2Art BUT stay away from the budget 2 stage for now.. Growing pains..
biggest reason is free worldwide shipping..

None w/ a blue face..

Other than that, contact local aquarium hobbyists..Even saltys use CO2 equipment..
