To be honest, that looks like a deficiency of some sort, but angels do take out chunks of selected plants, mainly from the edge though, their diet in the wild consists of much vegetation and algae as well as high protein meaty foods. I believe the same goes for discus, they're very closely related and occupy some of the same territories in the wild. IME, an angel is unable to pull chunks from the middle of the leaf as in your picture, they have to grab the outer edge and rip back and forth to pull it off.

Could it be a nutrient deficiency, are you dosing any ferts? Are there any other plants with issues? How much light do you have in relation to the size of the tank and are you injecting CO2?

Try sticking a root tab under that plant and see what happens.
It's the clown loaches. They left horse shoe shaped bite marks on my plants which got bigger until the whole leaf was gone. If you do a lil research on clown loaches and planted tank you'll see that a lot of people have problems with them also.
My angles eat at my hygrophilia corymbosum. I wish I could get them to stop.
I agree that the loaches are the culprit. My loaches love to eat broad leafed plants. I know a few people who have been fortunate to not have their loaches eat their plants, but I know majority I chatted with have.

Ditto. I can't keep broad leaf plants except tougher ones like anubias. Feeding the clowns lettuce and cucumber can help. I simply will not part with the clowns. If I had more money, I'd probably give them their own tank. I don't have experience w/ angels or discus. Don't rule out snails. You could have some hiding, but I doubt that's the issue. The holes are pretty big. Do look for a horseshape bite.

I had 4 big clown loaches in my 75 and I loved them too... they were my mom's favorite fish always made her laugh. But I sold all my fish 2 days ago to start to prepare my 75 to become a planted. They went to a good home though!
The other problem with big bottom dwellers is that they can uproot plants if they don't yet have a strong root system. Regarding the eating plants issue, I forgot to say that I think my smaller less mature clowns eat more plants than the adults.
