Can we possibly make a sticky with all the abbreviations for shrimp? I'm having a hard time figuring out what some are which means someone new to shrimp would be totally lost.

Lisa I've been raising shrimp for several years and still scratch my head on some of the abbreviations.:hihi:

Well, crap, then we're all screwed! :icon_eek:

I've just reignited my interest in my tanks and so many new kinds of shrimp are out there now that I'm struggling to learn everything.

Ooh, I just thought of two:

RBT: royal blue tigers
BB: blue bolts

normally in cichlid breeding F1 would be the first generation from the wild caught parents and so on.

in shrimp breeding we usually label F1 as the first generation of a hybrid cross, the most common labeling of F1 is when a CRS and a King Kong or some other taiwan bee has cross, the hybrid babies are called F1.

if you have a CRS and a KK breed, you can breed the F1 babies together in hopes of getting some taiwan bees in the F2 generation, understand?

I believe there's several of these out already. Problem is they always end up getting buried. Really needs a sticky or something on one of them at least :\

I'm sure there are others but that's why I asked if we could make a sticky. ;)

Does anyone use BP for blue pearls?
