Thats pretty messed up that those actions wouldn't result in an immediate firing.
I will likely file a small claims suit towards the employee. If I press charges I am sure they will can him. I still can't believe this...Wow, honestly I probably be suing USPS by now. Thats really messed up and the fact after they told you one of their employee was throwing out your packages and saying they don't owe you anything? They should be garnishing that employees pay for the worth of your packages and compensate you for it.
What an idiot...... But now, today he called me while I am working and told me a local employee admitted to "trashing" a bunch of them because he knew me and had a grudge against me from HIGH SCHOOL(8 years ago!).
I concur. Completely ridiculous. I feel like I might as well have just taken money and started it on fire. What an idiot...
It is, but the investigator told me that right now the US Attorney in our region is overtaxed and it will take upwards of 2 years to press charges. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.well it sounds like you are doing every thing you possibly can to correct this issue and this is the best we can hope for. i agree tho that guy should be up for imediate termination. i thought screwing with the federal mail is a federal offense?
this same situation just happened in philly last month. investigators found like 5 years worth of mail in some guys garage.I found this after 2 seconds of searching the net. PM me the location of your post office, I know somebody who can handle this asap![]()
Phoenix Postal Employee Indicted for Dumping Mail
A Phoenix, Arizona, federal grand jury indicted a former postal employee for dumping
FirstClass
Mail, after an investigation by Special Agents of the U.S. Postal Service
Office of Inspector General (USPS OIG). The Phoenix employee was charged with ten
counts of Delay or Destruction of Mail by a Postal Employee, a federal charge that
carries up to 5years in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both for each charge. The indictment
charges the employee (at the time), with depositing mail into a trash bag and throwing it
away rather than delivering it to the addressees.
“U. S. Postal Service employees are given a special trust to properly handle mail that
comes into their possession. When even one postal employee violates that trust, it is a
cause of concern for all of us as customers of the mail system,” said U.S. Attorney Paul
K. Charlton.
2 years? LMAO what a joke!It is, but the investigator told me that right now the US Attorney in our region is overtaxed and it will take upwards of 2 years to press charges. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
I even know both the US attorney and a Deputy US attorney here. I will have to call them tomorrow.
Out of my pocket, this isn't a TON of money. But it is starting to hurt...

Oh I intend to follow through, as my part will be easy enough. Mostly I am really discouraged by the post office.... I don't want to increase costs on customers, but don't know how comfortable I am.So what? Take as long as it takes and charge the a*****e.
