with that open space, how long will the plants fill in? Utricularia graminifolia is the one that eat small creatures with their trap right, how do you feed them.
nice idea based around utricularia, but
1. pond lilies get *way* too big for a 20g,
2. that is a lot of light for no co2 (put out the Welcome mat for algae),
3. and maybe add some rocks and terrace the substrate to add depth (kind of like this tank by Oliver Knott).

The lilies are dwarf ones so it will be fine for awhile. The tank has had no algae already for several months. The tank set up was rushed, thats why no rocks, or decent wood.
Any updates? I'm getting a 20 gallon soon and I was wondering how the U.G. went with that light and no CO2. Do you dose excel? And what's your basic dosing schedule?
