Okay, my heater went berserk in my 5 gallon aquarium over spring break, and when I came back, it was at 98 degrees and all of my fish were dead...which really sucks. But anyways, I finished the grieving process and after changing out most of the water and removing the rotting organics, I decided to make the best of the situation and plant the tank. I have some cryptocryne wendtii, a couple of nice looking melon swords, some moneywort (bacopa), and a nice bunch of rotala (the red variation). Anyways again, today I found a little snail crawling on the glass. I would normally get rid of it, but I was planning on eventually getting some dwarf puffers, who will love snails, so I could keep it/them until I get the puffers in a few weeks. Do snails adversely affect plants or anything else in my aquarium, or would it/they be okay for a few weeks? Sorry if this is an obvious question, but I'm new to planted tanks...
