What stores have Malaysian trumpet snails (Melanoides tuberculata) and Bamboo shrimp (Atyopsis moluccensis)? I have a planted aquarium I am setting up for Betta and was told those snails and shrimp are compatible with Bettas.

Also, is there a local source for Blackworms (Lumbriculus variegatus)?

You could check with a number of pet stores in the MSP area. I would call ahead of time, but best bets may be Forest Lake Pets, World of Fish, Sea Level (temporarily closed due to moving) and Aqualand. They may not have the exact ones you are looking for, but they can also give you some really good advice. These are ones I go to on the Mpls side of town that I've had good luck with, and I'm not sure what's on the St. Paul side.

I was hoping that those with direct experience would speak to the matter.

Driving around the Twin Cities in search of stores that might sell Malaysian trumpet snails, bamboo shrimp, or blackworms is not a productive use of my time, nor is calling them. Recently, when I have called them, I get an abrupt "No" or "We just sold out" when I ask about the snails, shrimp, or blackworms. I think everyone is short staffed.

I've been to World of Fish several times, where the staff are helpful but it often comes down to how busy they are. When I was at World of Fish in September, the staff member who assisted me said they had no blackworms and that I should visit other stores.

Store stock changes. All kinds of stuff is difficult to get with supply chain problems. It would be my guess that the only people with direct experience that would know the store stock is someone that works at the store, or someone who is at the store right now. Both of those require taking the time to make a phone call. I like to find out when LFS's get their deliveries and I have a local place that will be things in on delivery day if it's on their list of stuff to order from.

I agree. I was hoping some of them might be visiting this forum.

I'm planning on visiting World of Fish in about two weeks to purchase a betta. I'll again inquire about blackworms and the other critters I'm interested in.

Two weeks turned into 4 weeks.

World of Fish had no blackworms nor Malaysian trumpet snails.

We bought a betta, two otos, and three zebra nerites. Now I'm wishing I had bought four oto catfish. I'm hoping to get back to World of Fish in about four weeks to get two more Otocinclus.
