Hello, I found this little guy in my tank yesterday. I captured him and put him in a breeder tank for now. I would really rather not have to kill him but I also don't want a pest snail infestation. Is he a bad guy? And is it possible that maybe there is just this one and they won't breed?

Looks like a common pond snail to me. The thing about them is they don't need a male and female to breed. Its very possible its laid eggs already.

Oh boy. That's what I was afraid of. I guess I'll just have to get rid of him and hope for the best. I have Kuhli Loaches on the way and I've read they will sometimes eat the smaller snails so maybe I'll get lucky.

Looks like a bladder snail to me. Similar to pond snails but smaller.

If you don't want it, pull it out now and crush it. Waiting for the loaches to arrive be will only give it time to lay eggs.

My khulis don't eat snails, though. They're always on the bottom and the snails are rarely on the substrate.
