Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone can help me identify these white specks on my driftwood. They popped over the weekend. The only thing I can think would be my nerites are breeding, but pictures I've seen online appear to be more translucent.

Those most definitely look like nerite eggs, my tank is covered in them.

Well, crap. I thought they only bred in takes with salt added.

Oh they won't hatch in freshwater, they need brackish water for that I believe. Mine never hatch they just stick for months until dissolving. I tried scrubbing them off my hardscape before and it was extremely hard to get them off and they just got covered again in a few days. I've heard though that they lay eggs when the tank is nice and healthy so that's good!

In my experience they only lay eggs when there is more than one in the tank. I also had this problem and fixed it by limiting my tanks to one nerite each.
