It's on.

The rocks will be removed after Manzanita gets waterlogged. I've also installed an experimental background using a semi-transparent Corian sheet and an RGB LED strip in the back. Here's how it looks with an orange glow and main lights turned off:

Thanks everyone. I wanted to keep the tank as a quasi-nature setup, but I know I have a bad case of plant collectoris so that will probably not happen. That being said, I'd like to keep the right side of tank more lush with stems in the back, blyxa in the middle and some foreground plant, while the left I am planning to scape as a "grass meadow" with either utricularia graminifolia or DHG Belem.

After two days of the tank running and not being able to get the desired co2 level, I've decided to tweak my plumbing. I've tossed the durso pipe and completely redone the intake and return pipes for a "Herbie overflow". Results- amazing, the tank is now completely silent. I've never had an aquarium&sump this quiet. I can only hear the hum of my return pump. Hopefully, that will help with CO2 outgassing, so I can dial the needle valve back.
