I have a 20 gallon long shrimp tank, I have it set up with a sponge filter and its heavily planted. I need to increase my water movement. Any suggestions?

Buy a splitter for your air pump ,if its big enough, and run a bubble curtain. Better yet, run another sponge filter.
I have a sicce syncra nano powerhead to circulate co2 better on a 20 long but you could use it for general flow too. They are adjustable and not too expensive. The bubbles flow from one end of the tank to the other in my tank so you would definitely get complete flow across the tank.
i could run another sponge filter very easily. Do you think that would give me better circulation? The one I have doesn't seem to displace very much water

i think you're ready to step into the canister filter game. pick up a ehiem. about a $100 solution. I have a 9 gallon and I run a canister. Good flow.
With my 20L I used a Fluval HOB, 2 airstones, and a Koralia nano 240 powerhead. Plenty of movement.

I ran a couple of these in my CRS tank for a bit, and the right angle output definitely helped:

I just didn't feel like it was enough circulation, so I moved to a couple of HOB's where I used these as prefilters. I think ultimately a 2215 is in my future, but the HOB's were free, so I'm sticking with that for now :)
