I think I have a duckweed problem in my 75g. I have duckweed in other tanks, but in my 75g they stay as seeds. Well either way, I need something that will skim the top of my water and collect seeds. I have never used a skimmer but would that work? what do I look for, need or buy?

I just force the edge of an empty plastic container under the surface near the duckweed and it come flying into the container with the water. I dump it out into a net hanging over the edge of the tank to catch the dw and return the water. lather, rinse repeat.

Duckweed all gone in a 90g in 5 minutes. If you don't get every particle it comes back but it's slow and easy to repeat this several times a week if necessary.

That's what I was trying to avoid. I want to get something what will keep it under control with out me manually netting it off.

Goldfish? My goldfish ate all the duckweed in their 29g tank in about a week. It has never come back.

I did use goldfish the first time and it worked. Forgot to mention I have a rare piranha in my tank. I guess I should have included that little info.
