I have an Australian Rainbowfish that started looking really bad today. It can't swim upright, it can't back is very dark in color and is sort of writhing around the bottom of the tank. Nothing has changed so I am not sure what is wrong with it or what I can do. I am thinking that it may just be old, since I have had it for about three years. What do you guys think?

cause sudden changes in temperature or microbial infection
you can try to raise the temperature by about 9 degrees f and dosing the tank with a antibacterial remedy.
but more then likely these will not help to get fish to swim upright.
if the fish is not estting and suffering then put him to death humanly.
