I have recentley set up a tank with Geophagus Steindachneri in it. The fish, especially the male have started to scratch quite a bit & the male has also gone into hiding most of the time. The fish appear to be breathing rapidly & the scratching is focused around the gill/head area. There are no visible white spots or any other lesions except for the black spots on the flanks in the pics & the black marks on the pectoral fin of the male.
The tanks parameters are Ammonia 0, Nitrite, 0, Nitrate 2, GH 9, KH 6, PH 6.8, Temp 24.5C. The water is crystal clear. The few catfish I have in the tank also scratch but not as much.

Does anyone have any idea what it may be?
Any help would be much appreciated.
