I apologize for the quality of my photos. I've never heard much about Amano shrimp illnesses, but there appears to be something wrong with one of mine. He has this weird orangey-pink growth on his head/rostrum. I think it is slowly getting bigger. He also has the same color spots on his tail/telson and it seems that it might be eroding his tail. It is still there in the same places after a molt and after he molted he is also missing one of his legs.
None of the other shrimp in the tank seem affected (Singapore, neos, pinocchios, other Amanos). He is moving and eating normally. This has been going on for about a month now.
Currently the shrimp is in quarantine. Two courses of Kanaplex, flakes with praziquantel and metronidazol, and SeaChem Paraguard have had no effect.
Has anyone here seen anything similar? If I can't cure him, how does one humanely euthanize a shrimp?
