Shuttle Endeavor over Sacramento

Everybody at work is waiting like crazy. The shuttle will be passing within 30 minutes along the shore line of Long Beach. My work place is on 20th floor high building facing the ocean. Just a good view when the plane passby.

I can see people waiting from all roof tops toasted by sun. LOL!

When I was in Navy basic training in Orlando, I got to see a shuttle flying over head during the launch. Not sure how far the launch area is from Orlando, but it was loud and you could feel it. It was pretty awesome. Can't imagine what it would be like being right there, or better yet, in the shuttle.

They just pass by half an hour ago. I was not able to take a good shot. There's just too much reflection of lighting on a curtain wall and sky over the ocean is a little hazy.

The Endeavor was carried by a shuttle plane. They were escorted behind by 2 fighter jets.

It was just awesome!

The same condition here in Long Beach.

Not really bro... it was pretty damn hazy here too and they didn't fly directly above me.

My apology. We have our lunch late not to missed this event. I was starving and my brain was not working when I type that.

Does anyone know the model of the 2 combat jets that escorted the Endeavor?

antbug, I lived in Sac and Rancho Cordova for 7 years. In fact I met my wife and we had our kids there That first pic totally made me miss it. Great pictures! We were lucky enough to be in FL for one of the launches a few years back. It's amazing how cool the shuttles are. Cool enough to make you feel like a kid when you see them in the air.

It passed by my schoo today! All of the kids freaked out and crowded to see it and all of the teachers rushed out of the buildings to see it because it was lunch time haha.

The other F-16 jet was missing on the photo maybe behind camera lens.

I was clueless and then heard a weird plane sound I knew was not from the Sac executive airport..........looked up and saw a shuttle and then did a double take as I'd seen pics of this, but not in person and sure as hell not flying low and near my house........saw the fighter escorts...........then it went behind a redwood out of view and then I got a good look on the other side to make sure I was not losing my mind.

I figured they would land at SMF airport..........but they came in way too low for that. I could not have been more than 1/4 mile from the plane.

Not sure why but there was only one F-16 when it flew over The Bay. :confused1:
