Shrinking Elodea Densa

It was growing well and I've read it will grow in virtually any environment, but all of a sudden my Elodea Densa is shrinking! There is no visible problems with it, and I haven't found bits of it floating around, it used to be about 12" now its about 6", I have nothing that eats plants, whas happening? Thanks. Tank is low tech with tropicas ferts weekly.
