I just got some Red Cherry Shrimp in the mail on Wednesday. They looked a bit like that after two days in a box. I though I had gotten the wrong shrimp, however after a few hours in my tank and something to eat, they regained their RED color.

Odds are that is the "Blue Shrimp"... It is an unnaturally colored Neocaridina spp. Odds are it will turn a natural brown color over time and any/all offspring will be brown.

That is an AWESOME looking shrimp!

It looks like a mutated neocaridina.

50% chance that it is artificially colored.

Also, the reason why we don't have such a dark blue shrimp like this in the hobby like seen in your picture is that these shrimp never breed true, and the offspring are usually brown, yet 10% of the offspring may be blue.

Selective breeding is awesome.

neocardinia wild type it is. Its back to being brown now maybe ill feed some stuff to make it blue again.
