I am trying to learn if there are any species of shrimp that I could keep in my planted tank. pH is above 7.8, rock hard water. I use DIY co2, fertilize with excel, nitrates and phosphates, and micronutrients.

Most of what I read suggests for many species my water is not appropriate. Are there hardier more adaptable species I could consider. I do have platies in the tank

Absolutely agree with the others on the CO2 and fish in the shrimp tanks. But to answer the actual question, neos would likely do ok in your water (would help to know actual parameters to be able to say for sure). I've got several neo colonies (taiwan fire red, blue velvet, orange sakura) in 8.3ph, 5gh, 19kh water and all are doing well and increasing their numbers.
