[Dead Can Dance]

Hiyas,

It's becoming very regular, at least once a fortnight I am losing a shrimp.
Mostly in one section of my tank and with the blue pearl cherries.

I attached 2 pictures of the one I just found. Not sure it'll help ID the problem.

From last water tests results;
PH 6.2
TDS 150
KH - 0-1
GH - 7


Any thoughts ?

What is your ammonia reading?

hey! i have the same issue aswell!! i have no idea whats been going on? i think officially all my shrimp have died. i had yellow shrimp... i have guppies that gave birth to a bunch of fry and they are doing just fine! so strange...

Bro I having the same thing my temp 2 days ago dropped to 58 degrees so I may think it's that but also maybe molting problems

Yellow shrimp I have found have a tendency to die for no reason. I can keep high grade CRS, CBS alive but never had much luck with yellow neos. Not sure why either.

+1 Don't judge by yellow shrimp. I eventually got so frustrated with yellow deaths- and lost hundreds of $$$, that I made my own hardy strain!

I bred red x 3 yellows I had left. I ended up with wilds, yellows and reds. Culled teh reds and wilds and did so for generations. Then worked on intensity of yellow. Took years, but they are incredibly hardy.

It is also how I came up with the theory that the same color of shrimp (Ie. red) resides on different loci since others have tried this same cross and wound up with only wilds.

I threw the 4 yellows I had in with cherries so maybe I'll have the same results. Gave up on them so going to try this.

Would you be happening to change your water every two weeks as well? Maybe the amount of water being changed is too great for the weaker ones to handle?
