I am almost ready to start a shrimp tank and really love yellow shrimp. I want to keep two varieties in there and was curious if anyone knows of another shrimp that would be well suited for the same water conditions. I know that since the yellows are neocaridinas that a caridina shrimp would be best. Would OEBT do well with yellows? Temperature and pH ranges are similar, but yellow prefer hard water and OEBT soft water from what I have read. Does anyone have any suggests or experience?

Yellow shrimp are highly adaptable. You'd do best to aim for the OEBT's conditions, and the yellow shrimp will do just fine. They are about as foolproof as cherry shrimp.

Ya, yellow, cherry, snowball, you can pretty much keep them in any pH of other shrimp and be fine. They are like cockroaches. lol. After a nuclear war, there will be cockroaches, Keith Richards and cherry shrimp.
