Its called Ebiten shrimp bacter

You will also see this in numerous Borneo wild products like bebi (ebi-bacter), shield, vital and their new line of substrate powders.

Yep, that's definitely Japanese. Unfortunately I can't translate it enough since the Japanese language often substitutes Chinese characters for their own, and I wasn't born in Japan, so I don't know any. Sorry :/

I think it's there because sometimes fruit flies or meal worms (maybe?) might (somehow...) get in.

Rather than tossing it and buying a new bag, the company says it's fine to continue using it....

It comes in a tiny zip lock bag. I've had it for at least a month and so far it's not drawing any critters but shrimp.

Looks like I need to use it more often! Lol

Probably Indian Meal Moths as they LOVE LOVE LOVE seeds, grain, flour, powdered milk, lots of good stuff.

And yeah, they're pretty harmless (if you're feeding critters, I personally don't want to digest meal moth larvae).:)
