I'm looking to add shrimp to my planted 125 and am wondering how others have dealt with filter intakes. I've tried the sponge prefilters but cant stand the look of them.
Well The only other option really is a stainless steel prefilter but they've been sold out for awhile at theshrimplab which I hear are the best ones to get. I think another shipment is coming in a couple weeks though and I know there's a thread about it around here somewhere as I just read it earlier today.
You can make your own pre-filter using some cheap fiberglass screen from Home Depot (used for screen doors and windows). Just cut to size, wrap around the factory inlet, and secure in place with zip ties, rubber bands, or super glue.
