hi all i'm setting up a 30G shrimp tank that has mostly Cabomba Green for nitrate reduction. it doesn't really need over 2WPG since it will be a non-CO2 tank.

it has a 4 y/o 65W CF 10000K/6700K bulb which is still very bright but i'm concerned about its age. are CF bulbs still benefical to plants after 4 years? i understand that they should be replaced once a year in order for them to perform at the rated output. but what if you need less than the rated output? i'm aiming for 1.5 WPG or so. what should i do?
