Hello All, I have an 8 year old planted tank with the original substrate: Up Aquasoil. I have replanted the tank a few times and it's no longer growing like it used to. I also dose ferts and have CO2 injection and have used fertilizer capsules. Would you recommend replacing all or part of the substrate or should I do something different?

Is it breaking down/turning muddy? Is it still buffering the water?

Sounds like it may be time to change. Personally I'd do it in sections, but admittedly I've never switched out aquasoil for more aquasoil before.
