So I was wondering and $10 says no one really knows the answer to this but...what is the smallest size hole or slot a shrimp can fit though at a given size?

ie: can a 0.5" shrimp willingly fit though a 1/4" hole?

I'm guessing they don't stuff themselves though holes...

But what about a 1/4" slot that's 8" long?...could a baby shrimp could get though that I would think.

I am trying to divide a large tank so larger shrimp cannot get though but smaller will pass though...any ideas?

A 1/2" shrimp couldn't fit through this but the babies can.
Everything Plastic Canvas - Plastic Canvas 5 Mesh 13.25" x 22"

The #5 mesh has the largest holes. The holes in that sizer are just right for those very
small tie wraps to fit through so it would be easy to make a filter screen from using
those tie wraps to hole the corners/edges of a square box filter screen for example.

Ok so a quick search and I think I get it. Smaller the mesh # larger the spacing.

#5 mesh is an almost 4mm square space...baby shrimp are 2mm.

This could work thank you :)
