I'm setting up a RO system for water changes and was looking for a system to easily mix/remineralize the RO water and pump the water about 50ft for refilling tanks. I was thinking of building something like the following:

Two reservoirs seems nice so that there aren't any minerals in the reservoir coming out of the RO unit and the water can sit in there for some period of time.

Does anyone have any suggestions? What pump would you recommend? I'd like one that's somewhat quiet.

That is pretty much what I have for my reef tank. The pump that I use between the two barrels is MD-30RT - Japanese (600 GPH) - Iwaki - Bulk Reef Supply and to pump to my 375 gallons reef. To mix salt ( for you is minerals) I would use a small powerhead. How big are the reservoirs and your display tank?

I'm currently thinking two 55 gallon reservoirs. I currently have a 40 breeder, but plan to switch to a 120p eventually (and maybe two 60p's). That'd potentially total 112 gallons in the future and I normally do 50% water changes so 55 gallon reservoirs seem about right.

How big are the reservoirs you use for your reef tanks?
