Hi everyone. I am searching for a misting system that I could use for my planted terrarium. I wont have dart frogs. My goal is just to have tropical plants and maybe some critters (sowbugs …).

Thanks for your help!

What's your budget? The size of your tank? How many nozzles do you want?

In order for people to make recommendations, you'll probably need to provide some more information.

MistKing is my go-to brand but there are cheaper options.
Hi. I have an Exo-Terra that measures 45cm long x45cm width and 60cm high.
I don’t really know how many nozzle I need for my terrarium. And for my budget, I would say that less than 200$ would be ideal.

The moistenland mister on Amazon is seriously awesome. It’s only $50 and is super easy to set up and program. I’ve been using it for a few months now on my crested geckos tank.
Thanks for the link. I will have to give a check. I have an Exo-Terra that measures 45cm long by 45cm deep and 60cm high.

I have a question related to this product. Where should I put the main device? Does it have to remain connected with a cable to the terrarium? From a distance?

Your terrarium looks amazing By the way.

+1 for mistking. Extremely good reputation, essentially the gold standard for terrarium misters. I think they are Canadian is well. Your size tank would use two misting nozzles one on each corner and be very happy. Their starter system plus the extra nozzle is all you need.

Do you have a link for the model I would need? So if I understand you, I would also need to add another nozzle? Do you know the price of those? Thanks.

Check the MistKing website and google around/check your preferred retailers in Canada. You aren't necessarily going to have the same options in Canada as you would in the US.

MistKing lists all their Canadian suppliers on their site, so start with those. Big Al's is one of them.

There are multiple nozzle types that range in price from less than US$7 to US$40ish. Just depends upon your needs. You can see the type of nozzle the starter kit comes with on the website and just get a 2nd one of those.

Thanks again. Do you think that with the size of my terrarium, one nozzle is more than enough to do the job?

There's really no way to know that without seeing your tank setup, your scape, the plants you're keeping and knowing more about your specific tank needs. It's really unique to your needs and no one will be able to tell you what to do without more information. You may be able to get away with a dual-head nozzle setup. You may need two separate nozzles, as @minorhero suggests. The best solution to provide as much flexibility as possible? Go with two separate, adjustable nozzles.

Something else to consider: Having at least two nozzles will make it easy for you to sell the equipment if you ever tire of it or no longer need it. Most people who want a misting system will want more than one nozzle and they'll be more likely to buy yours if you have one. Nozzles are cheap but people like easy.

Since you're already a member on Dendroboard, you may want to check their sales area to see if there are any quality used systems available. I bought a used one there over a decade ago and it's still in service.

Thank you!!

The main device suction cups on to the outside of your tank and then you run 1 single hose into the tank and connect all your misters to that hose. I use a 1 gallon jug of water as a reservoir and it lasts about a week.
