Satellite vs Orbit - Reflector Width Comparison

Satellite:

1 X __ w (18w, 40w, 65w, 96w) single bank
Look at Configuration A
The fixture's total width is 5¼" wide. The black strip that houses the ballast and the Lunar Light is 1½" wide. That means that the reflector is a little less than 3¾" wide.

2 X __ w (18w, 40w, 65w, 96w) dual bank
Look at Configuration D
The fixture's total width is 7¼" wide. The black strip that houses the ballast and the Lunar Light is 1½" wide also. That means that the reflector is a little less than 5¾" wide.

Orbit:

2 X __ w (40w, 65w, 96w) dual bank
Look at Configurations A, B, E
The fixture's total width is 8¼" wide. There is no black strip that houses the ballast and the Lunar Light like what is on the Satellite fixtures. The ballast is on top of the lamps and the Lunar Lights are between the banks of lamps. The reflector is practically as wide as the whole fixture or a little less than 8¼" wide.

Notice that the Orbit's reflector is ~ 2½" wider than the dual bank Satellite's reflector. This is one of the reasons why I like the Orbit PC's so much. Their reflectors are comparable to AHSupply.com's awesome reflectors.

I should have chose the Orbit instead of the Coralife Aqualight.

Question: Does the light fixture have an acrylic piece or anything of that sort?
Yes. It does have a clear protective cover on the bottom of the fixture. It can easily be pulled out for cleaning or swapping out the bulbs.

Are you aware that Tri City Tropicals sells various refurbished Current fixtures at good prices, including the Orbit. Many of these are like new and only the box was open. You have to call for availability. They will swap out the saltwater bulb(s) for $5 each.

You are speaking of the 48" 4x65w Freshwater Aqualight, aren't you? I just checked the pricing at hellolights.com and their price for that fixture is $252. A refurbished 48" 4x65w Orbit is $178 + $10 for swapping out 2 saltwater bulbs. That's a $64 savings.
