Guys,

There is sand like deposits on my plant leaves. Dwarf sag, crypts and everything is affected by it. It feels like rough sand to the touch and removable with hard try. What is it? And how to remove?

Substrate : Fluval Shrimp stratum
Filter : SunSun HW-603B
Tank : ~8 Gallon (20" X 10" X 10")
Ferts : Seachem products..

Edit : I have read on some forums that it might be calcium deposits due to lack of CO2. That may be the case? I am only using excel as CO2 supplement..

hmm, well I live in south florida and collect both crypts and dwarf sag in my area. The water around here is very hard, and the plants develop a gritty crust on them, which clears away after a few weeks in my tanks.
Any chance your collecting as well, or that you have super hard water?

Yep, I do have a hard water.. But I mix it with RO water for the tank.. But the deposits also appear in New leaves
