So I had some BBA completely take over the substrate of my tank due to having too much light and no CO2. I've since remedied the situation but the lower leaves of my s. repens were just BBA with some leaf on them, and I ended up cutting all the lower leaves off. The upper portions have been growing nicely but there has been no growth from the bottom. It's been maybe 2-4 weeks since I've cut them.
I'm wondering if I cut the stem at the bottom would new leaves sprout from the stem even if there are no leaves on it?

If it's reasonably well-established, has roots, and is getting everything it needs, it will come back. Might take a while, but it will. Stauro does better where there's good flow.
