Would a Rubbermaid container be alright for a QT tank? A newly store-bought one?

Clean it good, should be fine. Just run a heater and filter to it.
Some people use them as permanent tanks, so sure
Yes, as long as it's recycling number is 2, 4, or 5.
its fine, though i woudl probably not set the heater against the plastic. Attach to the sides using suction cups or set it on the substrate.
Okay, thank you!
Yes I have two that I use, I've never had any problems with them.
Yep it should be, I have used it as an emergency tank when my 55g broke. Also use it now when tearing down tanks/setting up a new one.
You're good.
Bred bettas in them before.
A properly set old fashioned heating pad underneath it works good, too.
