So I had some problems with my rotala (middle of the tank). I didn't trim it for a while and the top parts of the plant started to block the sunlight to the bottom of the plant and the leaves fell off the bottom of the plant. The rotala is basically see through now, which is the opposite of what I want. Will the leaves grow back on their own or should I trim it down really short and let it regrow?

Usually you need to top plants like that. Meaning you cut off the tops, cut the plant down at the base where it meets the substrate, and replant the tops.

I constantly have the same problem with my rotala. Similar to minorhero, I trim the tops and replant it after completely removing the bottom. I am experimenting keeping it shorter to prevent the leggy growth that I keep having.
