I have an anubias nana, a few swords, and some java fern. All of the plants are getting black fuzz stuff on the tips, which look like roots. Is there any way to prevent this? Also, how should I seperate the new plants that grow on the tips of the java from the mother leaf? What size is it best to do this at? Thanks

Sounds like BBA. It's a CO2 issue so you need to up your CO2 levels a little more.

The Java Fern plantlets can be seperated once they start forming visible roots.

You can also try squirting some Excel on the black stuff. This tends to kill the BBA fairly easily without the negative effects of overdosing.
