Rookie 30 Gallon - First planting complete!

671 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  BettaBettas
I started thinking about getting into the hobby back in January. After months of reading, forum exchanges and reviews I finally received and installed my first mess of plants. They may all die but at least for the moment I've got things right where I want them. Hooray for me!

I don't feel like drawing a new plant map so I'll just list them.

Back left corner - Echinodorus 'Kleiner Bar'
Middle left - Bacopa caroliniana (Blue Waterhyssop)
Front left - Cryptocoryne beckettii 'Petchii' (Petch's Water Trumpet)
Middle front - Marsilea hirsuta (Water Clover)
Back right corner - Cryptocoryne undulatus
Right middle - Hygrophila difformis (Water Wysteria)
Right front - Cryptocoryne beckettii 'Petchii' (Petch's Water Trumpet)
Back center right - Ludwigia repens
Back center - center left - Egeria Densa (Ancharis)

You can just barely see the Ancharis peeking over the hardscape on the right but I hope it will grow out.

Thank you very much to everyone who gave me help and insight during this long process.

Peace!

(Maybe I should think about buying some fish...)

Looks like a great start! What kind of light are you running? Do you have a stocking plan in mind?

puriance thank you very much for your reply. I'm running two Aquaray Grobeam 600 Ultima LED light bars. I'm not sure if that setup is considered low light or medium light but they are pretty sweet plus a five year warranty.

If my girlfriend moves in with me I'll probably get some tetra and danio glofish because that's what she likes. If she doesn't then I'm probably looking at a nice size school of cherry barbs along with some julii corys, a few fancy guppies and a few platys. Plus a few Siamese algae eater and maybe a golden apple snail.

Just my thoughts for now and thank you for asking.
Of course I woke up this morning, pulled everything out and replanted it. I guess that's the joys of aquascaping.
