So before I go all out on an emmersed setup, I want to test growing the plants for my tank in an empty 10 gal. Some of the plants I will get locally (dwarf hairgrass, glosso, riccia ect.) and I want to know what substrate to use. I could get hydroponics soil, it is a fish/hydroponics store, or grow it in the rockwool. I just want to know what substrate would be best for growth.
