Hi all I'm new to keeping shrimp an I'm having some trouble keeping them alive.

My question is what do you guys add to your ro water before topping up your tanks if anything at all I do add smalls amounts of ferts as my tank has plants an also run a co2 system but the ferts are way under what's remomended on the botte and the co2 is at 6-7 bps.

All advice is greatly appreciated thanks BZ

6-7 bps? Wow.

What are your water parameters?
I use salty shrimp gh+ to get my gh and tds up
That amount of co2 will gas shrimp to death. Usually it is either a planted tank or a shrimp tank. They really don't like fertz either
6-7 bps? Wow.
Going to echo the wow on this one in regards to your bubble rate. Before judging too much though, how big of a tank is this?
I don't know with other shrimps, but my RCS keep having babies with Co2 cranked up a bit.
Sorry guys I was ment to say 6-7 seconds per bubble!

I tested the water last night before the lights went off an the ph was7.2 i tested 8hours later before i left for work and it was 6.9-7.0. I will do a full water test tonight an post it up.

I have been doing a lot of reading the past few days and have read a lot about salty shrimp so I plan on getting that when I'm in kl this wk an will start using it once I get back from Australia.
Other then salty shrimp GH what else so I be adding to my ro water

I had another two fire red shrimp die on me today :-( all shrimp seem calm an happy then one will die then I'll have no deaths for a couple of days then another one or two drop off

Today's water parameters are as followed

0 no2
0 nh3/nh4
1dkh
Temp is 24c° atm
Co2 is 6seconds per bubble
The volume of the tank is 121litres or 26gallons
I have a feeling I'm low in GH an kh if so will mineral salt fix this problem
