RO wast water mineral content question

355 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  boxboy
At home I use an RO 4 stage system just for drinking water and since this makes ALOT of waste water I got to thinking... Would the waste water have a higher mineral content over the regular tap water? And would this water be better for a planted tank over regular tap water?? Of course I would still use Prime to make it safe for fish ect.

What are your thought?

I guess it technically should, it can also contain double or triple the bad as well. I have only measured the TDS of the waste water and it's higher than the tap water going in.
How hard is your water?

I run my wastewater line into the washing machine and use it to do laundry.
