The counter top unit doesn't consume a lot of electricity, no filters, membrane replacement needed compared to RO and the water is pure every time. I got one refurbished years ago from ebay for $90, still running perfect.

any pics of the unit?

This is from google images but similar to the one I have, it makes 1 gallon in four and half hour, no plumbing needed just fill up the tank in the back to the max level.
