a newbie question - Rili shrimp is a mutated form of RCS, right? so if placed in the same tank as RCS, they will interbreed, so it's not advisable?

Yes they will. The cross won't come out like other mutants which revert back to a wild type looking shrimps.

You get a shrimps that looks like something in between. Which isn't a bad thing if you rili shrimp is lacking red, but once you get something you like you should start selecting again. Sort of a balancing act.
